The Entry Lists are 'ere

Entries close this Friday, oh, and a little entry list surprise for you, too!

If you missed the hype, the 2017 RACV Energy Breakthrough entries went off on the 15th of March without a hitch. Maryborough Education Centre’s primary teams were first to be entered at just 8 seconds past the hour! This was shortly followed by St Patrick’s Primary School at 8:00:12, OMG!

We know you’ve been waiting to see who you’ll be up against since day dot, but lo and behold, the much anticipated 2017 Entry Lists are here and ready for your eyes!

Waiting Lists, oh, Waiting Lists

We’ve measured and measured [repeat x 100] the tracks, pit areas and camping spaces to try and accommodate every school’s request to be a part of the 2017 RACV Energy Breakthrough. Unfortunately, to safely run the event (both on the tracks and in the campsites) we have to cap the fields and some teams are on Waiting Lists. Boo!

We’ve done our best to contact all schools who have attempted to enter this year’s event to ensure all possible entry options are being explored. If you’re on the Waiting List and haven’t been offered an alternative into the event yet (or have forgot to return our calls) hop to it via the Contact Us page.

Hi, hey, hello.

2017 saw the introduction of five additional placings for selected categories, specifically for encouraging and allowing new schools to enter one of Australia’s premier school STEM challenges.

A very big welcome to schools across Australia who are entering for the first time:

  • Benton Junior College
  • Braemar College
  • Camperdown College
  • Galen Catholic College, St Joseph’s College
  • Keysborough Secondary College
  • Horsham West and Haven Primary School
  • Moama Public School
  • Moreland Primary School
  • Moorak Primary School/Yahl Primary School
  • Pleasant Street Primary School
  • St Josephs Primary School (Red Cliffs)

We’ve even prepared a fancy map…

There are still positions available!

All that being said, entries are closing this Friday, 30th June (the last day of school term) and we’ve still got spaces available in the Energy Efficient Vehicles, Pushcarts, Innovations in Technology and Try-athlon. If your school has been thinking about entering, it’s time.

Lachy probably never knew what he was in for when he first volunteered to help out on the Holden Stage at the 2009 RACV Energy Breakthrough. Whilst he participated in the Innovations in Technology category back in 2005, he has been on the 'other side of the fence' ever since and now manages the event's website, wifi network and Holden Stage. Away from the Energy Breakthrough, Lachy is heavily involved in the local Maryborough community across events, community radio and theatre and he was nominated for the for the Saward Dawson Community Service and Volunteering award in 2013.
